Alper: Republican BBQ a Great Success

Those who attended the Wilton Republican Town Barbeque were treated to games and food.

Well over 100 people joined us for fun, food and games as Wilton Republicans celebrated the Constitution at Trackside this past Saturday, September 17 – Constitution Day.

Many new families came to share the day and join in on the festivities. They enjoyed great conversation with friends new and old, as the children played with giant bubbles, tee ball, volley ball  and basketball.

We were honored to have former congressman Chris Shays and Linda McMahon join us, along with State Senator Toni Boucher, State Representatives Gail Lavielle and John Hetherington, First Selectman Bill Brennan and many other Republican candidates who will be on the ballot this November.

In spite of the political foundations, the day was decidedly a family day where people could flow in and out of conversations with friends or politicians – enjoying each other’s company and celebrating that what binds us together.

It would be disingenuous to describe our 1st Annual Constitution Day as anything other than outstanding and it would not have happened but for the tireless work of our volunteers, led by Annalisa Stravato and the tremendous leadership of Wilton RTC member and Outreach subcommittee chairman Eric Cameron. Outstanding job!
