BB Gun Found in Backpack at Wilton High
Wilton Police did not believe the owner had brought the gun to school with malicious intent.

A 17 year-old male was found to have a BB or Airsoft pistol in his backpack on school grounds on Tuesday, May 15, police said; however, police said there was no evidence suggesting that the juvenile offender was going to take any sinister action and that “at no time was anyone in any danger,” according to the police report.
Captain John Lynch of the said that the gun’s owner did not appear to have the gun in school “for any threat-related” or “violent” actions. Lynch said he did not know why the student had the gun, and that it was not brandished publically or was even removed from the backpack before the student was caught. Lynch said school administrators or teachers somehow happened to come across the knowledge that the student possessed the BB or Airsoft gun.
The juvenile has been charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and breach of peace, according to police reports.
