Best-Selling Author Jason Reynolds To Speak At Wilton Library

WILTON, CT — Best-selling author Jason Reynolds will visit the Wilton Library on Dec. 13 for a talk and book signing as part of the ASML Author Series.

The free event begins at 3 p.m. and will feature Reynolds in conversation with Valmai Hanson, the library’s head of teen services. Advance registration is required.

Reynolds, a 2024 MacArthur Fellow, is a No. 1 New York Times best-selling author of novels and poetry for young adult and middle-grade readers. His latest book, "Coach," was released Oct. 14 and is the fifth in his popular "Track" series.

“We could not be more thrilled to welcome Jason Reynolds to Wilton,” said Caroline Mandler, executive director of Wilton Library. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for community members of all ages to hear from an author of this caliber.”

A native of Washington, D.C., who grew up in Maryland, Reynolds began writing poetry at age nine and later published his debut novel, "When I Was the Greatest," which earned the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe Award for New Talent. His acclaimed works include "All American Boys," "Patina, Sunny," "As Brave As You," and "Long Way Down," which was named a Newbery Honor Book and Printz Honor Book.

He also co-wrote "Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You" with historian Ibram X. Kendi, a best seller that explores the history of racist ideas and promotes understanding and equity.

Reynolds has served three terms as the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and continues to live and write in Washington, D.C.

The ASML Author Series, sponsored by ASML, features prominent writers in public events followed by audience Q&A sessions and author signings. Elm Street Books will sell Reynolds’ titles at the event and accept preorders at elmstreetbooks.com.

The Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
