Coronavirus CT: Hospitalizations Drop Below 500
The coronavirus positivity rate was up slightly in CT overnight, but the number of residents hospitalized with the virus continues to drop.
CONNECTICUT — Coronavirus-associated hospitalizations continue to take a nose dive in Connecticut, while the daily positivity rate remains below 5 percent.
COVID-19 infections were up just about a half percentage point overnight, to 4.94 percent.

The daily coronavirus positivity rate is a function of the number of tests compared to the number of cases confirmed positive each day. Overnight, 1,189 positive cases were logged, out of 24,078 tests taken. The numbers of tests and cases confirmed do not include those taken with at-home self-test kits.

The state Department of Public Health has reported the number of hospitalized coronavirus patients in Connecticut has dropped to 467, down 62 beds overnight.
According to data released Friday, 241 patients, or just over 51 percent of those hospitalized in Connecticut with COVID-19, are fully vaccinated.
Currently, the highest number of the hospitalized —160 — are in Hartford County.
