DUI Driver Arrested After Crash In Wilton: Police

The accused refused to take a breathalyzer test, according to police.

WILTON, CT — A New Canaan man was arrested after he struck another driver on Rte. 7 Thursday night, according to Wilton Police. Brett Daniel, 47, struck a vehicle traveling north as he was pulling out from a restaurant parking lot.

Daniel was evaluated by EMS personnel but denied transportation to the hospital. Police say they smelt alcohol on his breath while they were talking to him about the crash.

Police say they administered field sobriety tests and Daniel refused to take a breathalyzer test.

He was arrested for failure to grant the right of way at a driveway and operation of a vehicle under the influence. He was given a $260 bond and is due in court on Sept. 25.
