Hearst Newspaper Editor Arrested in Wilton

Wilton police log for the week of 9/21 - 9/28. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

DUIs 

9/24: Officers pulled over a vehicle that was allegedly “not travelling in the proper lane,” according to the police report. Police said they stopped the vehicle on Seeley Road and upon subsequent inspection, smelled “an odor of an alcoholic beverage” coming from inside the vehicle. Police said they arrested the driver, David McCumber, 59, of Wilton, after he did not pass an administered field sobriety test. Reports say police charged McCumber with failure to drive in the proper lane and DUI. McCumber was released on a promise to appear in court. 9/24: Police said that a car veered off Range Road and became “stuck on a stone wall.” Upon inspection, police said they found the driver, Adam Streit, 40, of Wilton, to be intoxicated. Police charged Streit with DUI and travelling too fast for conditions; he was released on a promise to appear in court.

9/23: Police pulled over a vehicle after they spotted it being operated erratically,  according to police reports. When police pulled over the vehicle, they said that the driver, Susan Daily, 47, of New Fairfield, appeared to be intoxicated. Police said they found a small amount of marijuana in the accused’s purse. Police charged Daily with DUI, failure to drive right and possession of less than half ounce of marijuana. She was released on a promise to appear in court. 

9/20: Police pulled over a vehicle on Route 7 for failure to dim its high beams for oncoming traffic. Police said that they found the vehicle’s operator, Matthew Leverich V to be intoxicated; police said Leverich was given a field sobriety test, which he failed. Police charged the accused with improper use of high beams, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and DUI. Leverich was released on a promise to appear in court.

Pedal Bikes Found 

9/26: Two pedal bikes have been found on the side of Musket Ridge Road. Please contact the police department if you or someone you know is the owner.

Nail Guns Stolen 

9/22: Several nail guns were reported stolen from an open-sided garage off of Mollbrook Drive, according to police. The incident is under investigation; police believe the nail guns were stolen on 9/21. 

Lime Bags Stolen 

9/28 Four bags of ground limestone were found in the cul-de-sac of Glenn Hill Road. Police said two bags were open and two were closed.
