Easton Resident Thanks Wilton Police Department
A woman expresses her gratitude to a Wilton police officer, who made sure her wait for a tow truck would be a safe one.

Yesterday my car broke down on Danbury Road and I waited for AAA to come. They predicted it would take one hour. While my hazard lights flashed, one of Wilton’s finest stopped to park behind me, lights flashing, “to protect my car from being hit”. He was most kind and helpful, even persuading AAA to come sooner.
I feel compelled to let you know how very kind and helpful he was and how safe he made me feel. He went far beyond anything he is required to do in such a situation, including making sure that my trip home was secured. The name on his shirt was Tunney, and I found him to be a very proactive, competent and special officer.
I offer my sincere thanks to Officer Tunney and the News reports always focus on problems with police; Officer Tunney’s competence and kindness seems to me to be much more newsworthy.
Yours truly,
