Fiery Car Crash Closes Belden Hill Road: Wilton Police

Police say the driver had was driving on a suspended license.

WILTON, CT — A small fire broke out on the side of Belden Hill Road after a car crashed into a utility polie Tuesday evening. Police said the car was driving north when it slid off the road and hit a utility pole.

The pole broke in half, and a primary wire came down which tarted a small fire. The road was closed for eight hours.

Nobody was injured as a result of the crash.

The driver was issued a misdemeanor summons for failure to drive in the proper lane, driving a vehicle with a suspended license, and failure to return a suspended license.
