Wilton police cite two men for DUI and one for break-in, property damage, and larceny in unrelated cases.
WILTON, CT — Wilton police have charged two men in separate driving under the influence investigations, and a third in connection with a break-in and property damage at a local fitness center.
In the early hours of July 2, officers located a vehicle traveling north on Westport Road without headlights and at a low speed. The driver, Jon Drew Dials, 51, of Norwalk, told officers he had consumed alcohol prior to driving and did not complete standardized field sobriety tests to standard. He submitted to chemical testing, which returned blood alcohol content readings of 0.2446 and 0.2366. Dials was charged with driving under the influence. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older. He was released after posting a portion of his $300 bond and is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on July 14.
In a separate case on July 3, police responded to a complaint involving a vehicle operating erratically in the area of Danbury Road and Cricket Lane. Officers located the vehicle, driven by Janardhana Yeddala, 53, of Wilton, who reportedly could not maintain his lane and failed standardized field sobriety tests. His blood alcohol level measured 0.2732. He was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane, and drinking while driving. Yeddala was released after posting 7 percent of his $285 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 18.
