Multiple Car Accidents and DUIs in Wilton

Accidents happen. Sometimes they happen a bunch
2/6: Police followed a trail of fluid from a one-car accident scene on Mountain Road and traced it a short ways back to the residence of the driver. Police said Matthew Pitts, 19, of Wilton, had been travelling on Mountain Road when he somehow lost control of the vehicle, struck a guardrail, spun around, and then hit a utility pole. The accused then left the scene of the accident. Police followed the fluid leak at night, around 10:30 p.m., back towards New Street Terrace, where they found the accused’s damaged car, police said. The owner of the residence, a landlord, allowed police into the building; when the WPD knocked on the accused’s door, police said pot and smoking pipes were in plain view. Pitts was subsequently charged with possession of less than 4 oz of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, evading responsibility at a property damage accident, and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was released and issued a promise to appear in court.
2/2: A car on Belden Hill struck a deer and the deer fled. The deer is still at large.

2/2: A vehicle struck another vehicle exiting the driveway of , sending one person to Norwalk Hospital for knee pain, police said. Brian Firstrbook, 50, of Ridgefield, was travelling northbound in an Audi A3 when Lawrence Jackson, 34, of Stamford, pulled out in front of him in a 2010 Volkswagen Passat while making a left hand turn onto Rte. 7, according to police. Jackson was issued an infraction ticket ($85) and complained of head pain, while Firstbrook was transported to Norwalk Hospital, police said.
2/2: A car travelled off of Dudley Road and struck a tree after the driver said she fell asleep at the wheel, police said. Devon Diapice, 20, of Weston, was issued a summons for reckless operation. Her vehicle was towed form the scene, according to police.

2/6: A three-car accident occurred at the stop light/intersection of Rte. 7 and the Wilton YMCA. Police said that a vehicle failed to stop in time, rear-ending one car, which then knocked into the car in front of that. Police said that Diane Wilker, 68, of Redding, failed to stop her 2005 Volvo in time and struck a 2005 Acura, operated by Eva Graycar, 69, of Ridgefield. The Acura then struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was operated by Neil Peterson, 43, of Ridgefield.
Graycar, who was coindentally driving a gray Acura, reported wrist pains, according to reports. Police issued Wilker an infractions ticket for $103 for following too close.
Multiple DUIs
2/5: Police said that a stopped vehicle on the side of Wolf Pit road, across from Miller-Driscoll, had its hazards lights flashing, engine on, and was “partially invading the roadway” at 11:55 p.m. according to police reports. On subsequent inspection, police said they found that the driver, Gregory D’Alelio, 24, of Darien, to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and charged the accused with DUI.
2/5: At around 10 p.m Police said they observed a vehicle driving over the fog line repeatedly, so they pulled over the car; subsequently police said that they found the driver, Lauire Fan, 56, of Norwalk, to be under the influence of alcohol after she failed a sobriety test. Police charged the accused with DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane, according to police reports.
2/3: Police arrested Walter Kostrezewski, 45, of Stamford, and charged him for DUI, failure to drive in the established lane, and DUI. Allegedly, the accused was travelling Northbound on Nod Hill road when he “droe off the side of the road and struck a rock, deflating both right side tires. Further investigation revealed he was intoxicated,” police reports state.
2/2: Police stopped Nicole Pia, 26, of Stamford, for speeding on Rte 7. “Upon stopping her, she stopped in the middle of the road instead of pulling over,” reports read. Police subsequently arrested Pia for DUI, driving without insurance, and speeding, police said.
2/3: Police arrested Jeffery Tantum, 18, of Trumbull, for DUI, DUI under 21, possession of less than 4 oz of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol by a minor, and failure to drive right. Police said they received complaints of his motor vehicle driving erratically and when cops stopped the accused, found gin, marijuana, and a smoking pipe in his car.
2/3: Police pulled over Charles Watkins, 18, of Wilton, for speeding on Kristine Lilly Way. Police said that subsequent inspection found Watkins to be intoxicated after he failed sobriety tests; the accused was charged with DUI and travelling unreasonably fast.
Phone scam attempt
2/3: An elderly Wilton resident reported that he received a phone call from someone claiming to be his grandson sojourning in Niagara Falls. When the resident questioned the caller who called him “Pop-pop”, he hung up. Police believe it was likely a failed attempt to scam money.
