No Beer Sales in Grocery Stores

The official count is in, with most Wiltonians rejecting the sale of beer in local grocery stores.

Out of 11,028 registered voters, 2,754 Wiltonians (or 25 percent) participated in tonight's 2011 election. 

As there was not a single contested seat for any board position, the hot topic on the ballot was the question of whether or not  in Wilton.

With a vote of 1,525 to 1,153, Wiltonians denied grocery stores this permission.

Bill Brennan (R) was re-elected with 1,955 votes for First Selectman. Lynn Vanderslice, Chair of the Board of Finance, received the most votes out of any other candidate with 1,979 votes.

In 2009, Wilton saw a 38.4 percent voter turnout when the question of whether liquor stores should be allowed in town was on the ballot.
