Ed enjoyed golf with lifetime friends, especially Ed, Dave, Bob, Dennis and many others. He loved to garden and give the produce away to whomever wanted it. He was always planting too much to eat by himself and for several years maintained over 100 tomato plants. Ed had a good sense of humor, was always quick with a joke and had one for every occasion. His favorite holiday was Groundhog Day and since he was the only celebrant, the groundhog bestowed him with many presents. He loved everyone, and especially liked talking to the elderly and to children.

He leaves behind his wife Leona, his sons Douglas and Eddie and his wife Christina, his brother John and wife Jo Ann, nieces Pam Nessel and Christa Vontell and her husband Rob and daughter Talia and his nephew Keith McGivern and wife Penny and many cousins around the country. He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother Tom.
