The crush that wouldn’t die
A 61-year-old woman filed a complaint to police that a man she dated “back in the 1960s” had been calling her repeatedly, asking for another chance, police said.
Credit fraud

12/1: Police received a complaint that a resident’s credit card had made two purchases totaling about $2400 in unauthorized sales, police said. An $1800 camera from Walmart, shipped to somewhere in Iowa, and a $600 television (also purchased from Walmart) was shipped to somewhere in Texas. Police said the complainant just wanted to report the incident, as these criminal investigations lie outside of their jurisdiction.
Jackets jacked

12/4: $1500 worth of North Face jackets were stolen from the Outdoor Sports Center, police said. The safety tags were ripped off and thrown on the ground, according to police. The investigation remains open as of this writing.
Illegal dumps
12/5: Two mattress and their baseboards were found in a dumpster at 390 Danbury Road, police said. One of these mattresses contains a Sleepy’s tag with shipping information on it, and police said they were trying to track down the owner from the leftover information.
A minor joyride
12/5: Police said a mountain bike which had been on display inside Middlebrook School for a Toys for Tots drive was found outside the school. The bike, worth approx. $100, was found undamaged near a dumpster, police said.
Radio Shack larceny
12/5 Police said that an employees personal iPhone, valued at $778, was reportedly stolen while the employee was assisting a customer. According to police, the employee left her iPhone on the counter. The employee reported seeing a man, described as tall, black, with a slim build, near the counter, police said. Reportedly this man and the woman, only described as a black female, left together. The employee said she realized her phone was missing 45 minutes later, according to police. The case remains under investigation.
Shrub thief?
11/29: The owners of Burrito Shack apparently witnessed a Ford Tarus pull up into their shop’s parking lot with its lights off, drive to the Town and Country store next door, and stop, police reports say. The driver then allegedly got out of the car and took several tree shrubs and a wreath from outside, place them back in the car, and drive off, according to police. The owners of Buritto Shack were able to record the license plate and describe the driver to police; police subsequently arrested a 59-year-old Wilton man* on charges of sixth-degree larceny, according to police reports. Police also said that when they questioned the accused, it was found that the man had put the shrubs back prior to being arrested. Town and Country still decided to press charges*, police said. The shrubs were valued at $210. The accused was released on a promise to appear.

Trespassing and smoking
12/3: Following up on several complaints of youths trespassing and loitering in the parking area behind Stop and Shop Plaza, investigating officers found a 21-year-old man allegedly “trespassing and in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia,” according to police reports. Police issued Gregory Macintyre, of New Canaan, several tickets for having drug paraphernalia, possession of less than half-an-ounce of marijuana, and trespassing.
DUI
12/3: Police arrested Amanda Shaw, 33, Minnesota, for DUI, according to reports.
That’s an expensive mower
11/29: A $11,500 Toro brand land tractor was reported stolen from a residence on School Road, according to police reports. Police said that the property had been going extensive renovation and numerous workers had been on the property.
*Town and Country has decided to drop the charges on this case, and therefore we have removed the man's name.
