Helene Gatto, 77, died May 20, 2025; a special education teacher for many years, she was an avid reader, jewelry and quilt maker, and enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, and traveling, especially recalling fondly a trip to Venice.

Robert Earl Shultz, 84, died Mar. 3, 2025; a Norwich University graduate and Army captain, he had a distinguished career directing corporate pension and investment funds for major companies, served on church and town boards, ran marathons, preserved Squam Lake, and found joy hiking, boating, and sharing time with his grandchildren and dogs.

Edgar S. Palmer, 98, died Feb. 17, 2025; a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII and mechanical engineer at Curtiss Wright and Gibbs & Cox, he was an avid sailor known as “Captain Ed,” who enjoyed cruising Long Island Sound, vacationing in the Virgin Islands and Maine, dancing the Lindy, mixing Old Fashioneds, and celebrating his Swedish heritage.

Thomas John McManus, 77, died Feb. 17, 2025; a Certified Public Accountant who ran his own tax practice for over 30 years, he was ordained a Deacon in the Diocese of Bridgeport, actively served in the Knights of Columbus, the Wilton Rotary Club, and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed traveling and pilgrimages, and was a devoted caregiver in his later years.
