Roads Closed In Wilton Following Gas Leak: Police
Roads have been closed in Wilton due to a gas leak, reported Monday afternoon

UPDATE: As of 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Wolfpit Road, Horseshoe Road to River Road, is now back open.
UPDATE: As of 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Wolfpit Road is reopened. Horseshoe Road is closed between Wolfpit Road and River Road until further notice.
WILTON, CT — Roads have been closed in Wilton due to a gas leak, reported Monday afternoon at 4:13 p.m.

While conducting work on Wolfpit Road near Horseshoe Road, a construction crew struck an 8-inch Eversource gas line, according to an alert posted by the Wilton Police Department.
The closure of adjacent roads was necessary to implement safety measures until Eversource could arrive on the scene and take over the repairs, Lt. Anna Tornello said.

The roads Wolfpit Road westbound, and Horseshoe Road/River Road will remain closed until the completion of the work, which is expected later Monday evening.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area if possible, to alleviate traffic congestion.
