David Scott Blundell, 56, died of natural causes on July 21, 2025, after a 30-year career in the television and movie industry that included work on "Bones" and "Modern Family," and enjoyed fishing, golfing, hiking, playing guitar, and time by the ocean.
Sara Lou (Spielman) Augenbraun, 72, died July 21, 2025; an attorney turned professional photographer, she exhibited in juried shows, served as president of Temple Shalom and chair of Wilton’s Relay For Life, and enjoyed ice skating, bicycling, and travel to places including Cape Cod, Hawaii, and Cuba.

Nicholas D’Arcy Roche, 87, died July 31, 2025; a Columbia University graduate who rowed varsity all four years, he built a long career at IBM before serving as a Silicon Valley startup CEO, and enjoyed ballroom dancing, international travel, skiing black diamond trails with his grandchildren, hosting dinner parties, and attending the Telluride Film Festival.
Merrick F. Burkhardt Jr., 88, died May 15, 2025; a U.S. Army veteran and publishing executive who held leadership roles at Western Publishing, Platt and Munk, Elsevier-Dutton, Grosset & Dunlap, Great American Book Fairs, and ultimately served as general manager of Scholastic Book Fairs, he also enjoyed following UConn basketball.
