In this series' first installment, we take a look at krik-it's new necklaces as a way to support local Wilton businesses.

Here’s a nifty new trinket from in Wilton: some ZIP code bling from your kids.

For $85 or $105 you can get your kid either a sterling-silver or 18k-gold ‘06897’ ZIP code handcrafted necklace to proudly display their Wilton heritage. (Pictured is an example of a ZIP code, but it is not Wilton's.)

“They’re becoming popular,” said , co-owner of krik-it. “Young girls will wear them when they make their way to camp.”

Krik-it also sells specialized monogrammed, three-initial necklaces which sell well among all ages, said Coughlin. She said that parents, kids, and teenagers—sometimes for their sweet-16 birthdays, for example—buy these necklaces. 

“They make for nice personal keepsakes,” said Couglin. These necklaces can be personalized in a number of ways—for example, special dates, as well.

Items will be shipped to the customer’s home when the jewelry is made. Prices for the  monogrammed necklaces range from $150 (silver), $140 (gold plating), and a top-tier 14k gold necklace for $650.
