State Will Upgrade Wilton Intersection's Equipment In 2023
Though the Route 106/Horseshoe Road/Range Road intersection abuts Horseshoe Park, disruptions to the park will be minimal, officials said.

WILTON, CT — In 2023, state officials will update traffic and pedestrian equipment at the Route 106 intersection near Horseshoe Park in Wilton — but impacts to the park will be minimal during construction.
As part of a state project updating traffic equipment in Fairfield and New Haven counties, officials will "upgrade the traffic control signal equipment and pedestrian control features" at the intersection of Route 106 (Wolf Pit Road), Horseshoe Road and Range Road.
Upgrades include the reconstruction of a sidewalk ramp and the installation of traffic control pedestrian signal equipment. The project will meet the latest federal guidelines, officials said.

Though the intersection abuts Horseshoe Park, impacts will be small, as the upgrades will be "constructed in close proximity to the existing traffic control signal appurtenances," officials said.
Officials expect the park will remain open during the reconstruction, and the project will not adversely affect any parts of it.

Design plans for the Wilton upgrades and projects in other towns will likely be completed in January 2023, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said, and officials set March 2023 as a tentative advertising date for construction.
