Stolen Swiss Watches Surface in Wilton

The watches were stolen from two separate heists in two states.

Police are investigating two expensive which surfaced in Wilton. These watches, valued at $3,000 and $5,700 each, were the subject of two jewelry store heists in Delaware and Florida. 

During Jan. of 2011 in Jupiter, Fla., thieves made out with a whopping $7-million-dollars worth of goods after perps broke in through the roof and took a jackhammer and blowtorch to the vault door. It appears that they have not yet been apprehended.

The watch from Fla. (worth $5,700) was found by a person in California, who said he discovered the watch lying on the street. This person has ties to Connecticut and New York, so when he came back into the area, he dropped off the watch to the Breitling distributor, located at 206 Danbury Road in Wilton. The distributor was then able to trace the watch’s serial number back to its stolen origins.

The $3,000 watch was sent from NY to Breitling Watches for repairs. The company then traced this watch back to a robbery which occurred in 2006 in Del.

Breitling Watches is a luxury Switzerland-based watchmaker with a distribution and importing facility in Wilton.
