The Unofficial Wilton Emergency Notification Facebook Page
To prepare for an upcoming winter that will assuredly lead to more blackouts, we've launched another Facebook page to serve as an emergency forum for the Wilton community.
As winter encroaches and more power outages are a certainty—a —then it’s assured that more Wilton families will be scrambling to find local updates in every way, shape and form. Forty-eight Wilton homes had their power knocked out around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. While not nearly on and , it’s a reminder that power outages can occur hours after Wilton Town Hall—and thus their website—has been in operation and can easily leave a significant number of residents without any information. Our power grid is fragile and we all need to prepare for the worst.
Since Wilton , we’re launching an unofficial emergency-notification Facebook for the town of Wilton. It’s designed to be clutter-free (as in we won’t post unrelated non-emergency news, so even if you don’t like us on Facebook, you can still get important updates here) and a resource for Wilton residents to communicate on the page’s wall. The page is here for you to use and will only be successful if the community chooses to be a part of it—we’re just giving you another platform other than Patch to feel more connected to the Wilton community.
Again, it’ll only work if people respond and contribute, so click here to like the Unofficial Emergency Notifications for Wilton 06897 Facebook page. Tell your neighbors and get everyone connected. It’s here for Wilton.
