Thunderstorm Warning for Fairfield County Includes 60 MPH Winds, Hail
The storm was last seen near Ridgefield and moving northeast.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Fairfield County, in effect through 1:30 p.m.
"At 12:45 pm EDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph," the service warned.
"This storm was located near Ridgefield and moving northeast at 30 mph," it added.
