Two Car Crashes During Weekend Storm in Wilton
Wilton police logs for Jan. 16 - Jan 21. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Jan 21: A Volvo travelling on Scribner Hill during this past weekend’s snow storm slid across the road, over the curb, and went sideways up an embankment far enough to cause the vehicle to tumble over and land upside-down, back onto the middle of the road. Police said the accident occurred around 12:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Inside the car were three children—ages 5, 11, and 7—and the driver, a 22-year-old female Wilton resident. Police said that while all involved in the accident were transported to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation, no one appeared to have sustained injuries. Police said that those involved were likely held in place by seat belts.

David Finkelstein, a Wilton resident, snapped the accompanying picture to this article and sent it to Patch. Finkelstein said that the Volvo remained overturned as of 2:30 p.m. and that Scribner Hill had been closed off.
Police said they charged the owner of the vehicle, a 43-year old male Wilton resident residing on Rock House Road (which is right off of Scribner), with an infraction for “unsafe tires.” Reports did not specify what was unsafe about the tires. All parties involved in the accident are residents of the same household on Rock House, police said.

Another snow storm crash
1/21: A woman driving southbound on Rte. 7 in a Toyota Camry during this past weekend’s snow storm lost control of her vehicle after she attempting to negotiate a turn, sending the Camry plowing through a snow bank, which then caused the car to swirl; the car was forced to a stop after spinning sideways and striking a tree which crushed the driver’s side door, causing a “one-foot intrusion into the driver’s compartment” according to the police report. Police said the driver and her passenger were both extricated and transported to Norwalk Hospital for injuries. Police charged the driver with travelling unreasonably fast. The accident occurred just south of Calico Corners at 9:35 p.m. this past Saturday.
$1,200 Stolen from Swizzles
1/23: Police arrested a 20-year-old woman from Bridgeport for stealing a total of approx.. $1,000-$1,200 from Wilton Swizzles during October of last yea, according to reports. Police said that the accused, identified as Ebony Peterson, allegedly stole money from the business after being identified through security footage. Peterson was an employee at Swizzles during that time. Police said the money had been stolen on six separate incidents, leading the police to charge the accused with six counts of sixth-degree larceny.
Juvenile punches her mother in head
1/18: A 17-year-old Wilton female allegedly punched her mother in the head during an argument about school attendance, according to police reports. Police charged the youthful offender with third-degree assault and issued her a promise to appear in court.
Seven counts of Failure to Appear
1/18: A 20-year-old male turned himself in on four separate counts of failing to appear in court for a criminal mischief incident whereupon the accused was a passenger in a vehicle which drove on private property in August 2011, police said. The accused, identified as Alexander Orsher, of Wilton, also faces three additional warrants issued from Danbury Court after the Orsher failed to appear on three separate motor vehicle charges which occurred in Ridgefield last year, according to police. The accused posted a $3,900 bond was issued two promises to appear in Danbury and Norwalk courts, according to police reports.
DUI
1/17: Police arrested a 54-year-old New Milford woman for DUI after police received a complaint of a matching vehicle reportedly swerving around on Danbury Road. Police said that the accused, Karen Miller, was intoxicated after allegedly failing a field sobriety test. She was given a promise to appear in court.
