Two Men Face Drug And Larceny Charges After Incident Outside Wilton Grocery Store
Wilton police charged two men with larceny and drug offenses after a vehicle linked to retail thefts was located June 21.
WILTON, CT — Two men are facing multiple charges, including drug possession and conspiracy to commit larceny, after Wilton police identified a vehicle connected to earlier retail thefts and conducted a stop in the Stop & Shop parking lot on River Road.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. on June 21, Wilton police were alerted by license plate recognition cameras about a vehicle previously linked to retail thefts. Officers found the vehicle in the Stop & Shop parking lot and made contact with the driver. A second person was seen approaching with a shopping cart filled with unpaid merchandise.
Both men were detained at the scene. During a search of the vehicle, officers found suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia in a backpack and under the seats.

George John Craig, 39, of Winsted, was charged with use of drug paraphernalia, second-offense possession of a controlled substance, sixth-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 3. Following his release, Craig was taken into custody by Waterbury police for an outstanding warrant.
Christopher Andrew Goodall, 41, of Cromwell, was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance, sixth-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was released after posting 7 percent of a $2,500 bond and is also scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 3.

In a separate incident the same day, a hit-and-run was reported at 6:33 p.m. at the intersection of Danbury Road and Seeley Road. Police said the driver of a blue 2011 Toyota Camry was struck by a gold Tesla while attempting a left-hand turn. The Tesla, which sustained front-end damage, fled southbound on Danbury Road. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Kevin Maloney at the Wilton Police Department.
