Whole Foods Partners With Wave Hill Breads

The following is a press release sent by Margaret Sapir, co-owner of Wave Hill Breads, a business which recently moved from Wilton to Norwalk.

Whole Foods Market has partnered with based in Norwalk, Conn, to provide fresh baked Hearth Breads to be featured behind the counter at their five stores in Fairfield and New Haven Counties (, , , Fairfield and Milford). 

The breads will be available initially at Whole Foods Market stores in Westport and Milford on January 5. Breads can be cut to order, allowing customers the option to purchase as much, or as little product as they like. 

Shoppers can find Wave Hill Breads’ classic Three-Grain French Country Bread, as well as their new Ciabatta with Olives & Roasted Red Peppers and American Whole Grain Multi-Grain loaves in extra-large versions, displayed behind the counter in each store’s bakery department.

“Now individuals can buy just enough Olive Ciabatta for a homemade sandwich, or a few slices of the hearty Whole Grain Multi-Grain to toast for breakfast. We use many organic ingredients and stone-grind the whole grains every day in the bakery,” said Margaret Sapir, co-owner of Wave Hill Breads.

Wave Hill Breads has been delivering their original French Country Pain de Campagne to Whole Foods Market stores in Darien, Fairfield, Westport, Greenwich, White Plains, and Milford for several years.

Wave Hill Breads Connecticut, from nearby Wilton, in 2011 and installed a new, larger oven so that they could expand their capacity as demand grew for their distinctive loaves. An on-site café will open later in January at the 30 High Street location featuring breads, pastries, and beverages. Until then, customers are free come to the “back-door bakery” to pick up fresh bread and pastries.
