The event will feature more than 4,000 plants, most of which were grown locally by club members. New this year are fresh-cut bouquets arranged by club members.
Sale hours are noon to 6 p.m. on Fri., May 9, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., May 10. A presale will take place at the Comstock Community Center greenhouse on Wed., May 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Funds raised support the Wilton Garden Club’s year-round projects, including public garden maintenance, native plant cultivation, senior garden therapy workshops, and donations to local nonprofits. Volunteers maintain locations such as the Wilton post office, Veterans Memorial, and Horseshoe Road Garden, among others.
Club members prepare plants throughout the year, digging from local gardens and propagating cuttings in the club’s greenhouse. Organizers credit the plants’ hardiness to their acclimation to Wilton’s climate.

“Our plant sale is literally iconic,” said Andrea O’Meara, Wilton Garden Club president. “We are frequently commended on its success, especially its extensive variety of plants, its rich history of 86 years, and our members’ enthusiastic dedication to the effort. We’re very proud to host such a special event for our town. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day and kick off the spring growing season.”
The sale has operated annually since 1939 and has grown over the decades from its original location at Old Town Hall. Community involvement includes contributions from local scouts and volunteers.
