Wilton Garden Club Reaches Goal With 15,000 Daffodils In Bloom
Wilton Garden Club celebrates planting 15,000 daffodils across town as part of a five-year beautification project, now in full spring bloom.
WILTON, CT — Wilton is in full bloom this spring, thanks to a five-year beautification effort led by the Wilton Garden Club, which has successfully planted 15,000 daffodil bulbs throughout town.
The initiative, known as the Golden Miles Initiative, began in 2021 to commemorate the club’s centennial. Its goal was to plant 15,000 daffodils across Wilton by 2025. That milestone was reached last November when the final 2,000 bulbs were planted around Wilton Town Hall by club members and volunteers from ASML, the Wilton Kiwanis Club, and the general public.
The bulbs have now flowered, offering residents and visitors a view of golden blooms along roadways and public spaces. The club encourages the public to explore the display using its self-guided driving tour.

“Many thanks to everyone who has participated in this special effort to beautify our town for years to come,” said Suzanne Knutson, chair of the Golden Miles Initiative. “We hope the daffodils lift everyone’s spirits after our long New England winters.”
The daffodils, a mix of 15 varieties, were selected for staggered bloom times, ensuring color for four to six weeks each spring.
