Wilton Gas Prices Continue To Fall In Summer's Waning Days
In Connecticut, a gallon of self-service regular is averaging $3.48, down three cents from a week ago and down twelve cents from a month ago
WILTON, CT — Gasoline prices in the area and nationwide continue to slide in the waning weeks of summer.
Analysts at AAA Northeast credit a reduction in demand and in increase in domestic production.
But they warn that renewed tropical storm activity in the Atlantic and increasing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could change everything, quickly.

In Connecticut, a gallon of self-service regular is averaging $3.48, down three cents from a week ago and down twelve cents from a month ago. The national average is $3.44, down three cents from last week and down nine cents from last month.
In Wilton, the best price for a gallon of regular fuel is $3.45 at the CITGO at 386 Danbury Road. 287 Danbury Road Gulf station, At the Shell at 210 Danbury Road, you'll pay $3.49. The price is $3.69 at the Mobil at 46 Danbury Road, and $4.09 at the Mobil at 932 Danbury Road. The update was posted Tuesday morning by shopping app GasBuddy.

"By all accounts, as the summer driving season enters its final laps, gas prices are falling on seasonal trends," said Lauren Fabrizi, spokesperson for AAA Northeast. "But tensions in the Middle East and renewed tropical storm action could flip the script."
Here is AAA's weekly price survey of Connecticut’s six metro regions:
- Bridgeport: $3.53
- Hartford: $3.46
- Lower Fairfield County: $3.49
- New Haven/Meriden: $3.47
- New London/Norwich: $3.45
- Windham: $3.48
On Monday, Mississippi and Tennessee had the lowest prices in the nation at $2.95 and $3.01, respectively. Hawaii and California hold the highest prices in the nation this week at $4.66 and $4.60, respectively. Connecticut holds the 16th place on the list of highest gas prices in the nation.
