Wilton Library Wins Statewide Award From The Connecticut State Library

The new award is part of the CT State Library's Excellence in Public Libraries initiative.

WILTON, CT — Wilton Library has been named the recipient of the inaugural Community Engagement Award from the Connecticut State Library, recognizing the institution’s extensive collaborations and programming that serve residents of all ages.

The new award is part of the CT State Library’s Excellence in Public Libraries initiative, which honors libraries that demonstrate outstanding service, innovation, and community impact. This is the first year the awards have been presented.

“We are honored to receive the first-ever Community Engagement award from the CT State Library,” said Caroline Mandler, executive director of Wilton Library. “At Wilton Library, we strive to fulfill the diverse needs of our changing community and create an environment where everyone is made to feel safe and welcome.”

Mandler credited the library’s numerous partnerships for the achievement, thanking more than 70 local organizations the library collaborates with each year.

“We are very grateful to be able to collaborate with so many outstanding local organizations that embrace this same vision for our community,” she said.

The award highlighted the library’s strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening engagement and fostering a sense of belonging throughout Wilton.
