Wilton Man Charged With DUI After Speeding Stop on Danbury Road
Wilton police charged a local man with DUI and speeding after a late-night traffic stop on Danbury Road.
WILTON, CT — A Wilton man is facing charges of driving under the influence and speeding after a late-night traffic stop on Danbury Road, according to the Wilton Police Department.
Officers stopped a tan Ford Fusion around 12:44 a.m. on June 15 after it was observed traveling northbound at a high rate of speed near the intersection with Wolfpit Road. Police identified the driver as Steve Defrancesco, 33, of Wolfpit Road.
Defrancesco reportedly admitted to consuming alcohol before driving and did not perform the standardized field sobriety tests to standard, police said.

Subsequent chemical testing showed blood alcohol concentrations of 0.1129 and 0.1150. Defrancesco was cited for driving under the influence and for speeding. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older.
He was released after posting 7 percent of a $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 26.
