Wilton Police Charge 3 In Separate DUI And Traffic Incidents
Three drivers face charges in Wilton, including two DUI cases and one evading responsibility crash.

WILTON, CT — Wilton police charged three motorists in separate incidents over the past week, including two cases involving driving under the influence.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, officers stopped a 2021 BMW 430i traveling 58 mph in a 40 mph zone on Danbury Road near Honey Hill Road. Police said the driver, Michael Robert Grise, 35, of Danbury, showed signs of impairment and did not perform standardized field sobriety tests to standard. Chemical testing later indicated blood alcohol levels of 0.0886 and 0.0827. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older. Grise was charged with driving under the influence and speeding, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 15.
At about 3:18 a.m. on Aug. 7, officers found a vehicle idling at the Gulf gas station on Danbury Road, with the driver asleep inside. Police said the driver, Alfaro Juan Romano, 48, of Fairfield, had consumed alcohol before driving and did not perform field sobriety tests to standard. He refused a breath test and was charged with driving under the influence. Romano is due in court Aug. 18.

On Aug. 9, Wilton police responded to 162 Range Road for a report of a vehicle striking a mailbox and leaving the scene. Officers found a damaged mailbox at and vehicle parts matching a 2013 Honda Accord. Ridgefield police later stopped the car, driven by Margaret M. Walsh, 71, of North Salem, N.Y. She was charged with evading responsibility involving property damage and failure to maintain the proper lane. Walsh is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 22.
