Wilton Police Honor Officers, Volunteer at 2025 Awards Ceremony

Wilton Police recognized officers and a volunteer for outstanding service during the 2025 Annual Awards Ceremony held at Wilton Library.

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Police Department honored several officers and a community member for exceptional service and dedication during its 2025 Annual Awards Ceremony held Tuesday at the Wilton Library.

The ceremony recognized officers for acts of bravery, commitment, and community engagement. Awards included letters of recognition, commendations, meritorious service awards, and life-saving honors.

Officer Melissa LaPak was named Community Police Officer of the Year for her involvement with the Domestic Violence Task Force and efforts in teen driver safety education.

Officer Elizabeth Myles received the Police Officer of the Year Award, with department officials noting her diligence and attention to detail in investigations, as well as praise she received from prosecutors and court staff.

In addition to uniformed personnel, former Wilton resident and longtime Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member Thomas Gunther was presented with the Civilian Blue Angel Award for his volunteer contributions to the town.

Town officials, including First Selectwoman Toni Boucher and Police Commissioners Philip Giovino and Gary Reedy, were present and spoke during the event. Deputy Chief Robert Cipolla opened the ceremony, and Chief Thomas Conlan presented the awards.

The event highlighted the Wilton Police Department’s ongoing role in fostering community trust and maintaining public safety.
