Wilton Police Investigate 2 Motor Vehicle Crashes

WILTON, CT — A Norwalk woman is facing charges after officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident involving suspected impairment near M&T Bank on Danbury Road.
Police were dispatched to the scene around 1 p.m. on March 28, where they investigated a motor vehicle crash. The complainant reported concerns that one of the drivers may have been under the influence of an unknown substance.
Officers spoke with 59-year-old Irma Quiles and determined that she was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests to standard. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and was released on a promise to appear in court. Quiles is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on April 11.

In a separate incident on March 26, police responded to a crash at the intersection of Danbury Road and Station Road involving a Volvo S60 and a Chevy Malibu. Investigators said the Volvo, driven by 37-year-old Darlene Calderon of Norwalk, collided with the Malibu while heading northbound. Calderon was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries and was issued an infraction for following too closely, resulting in an accident.
