On March 17, a Wilton resident reported that their vehicle had been entered overnight and a bank card stolen. Unauthorized purchases were later made on the card. After photos of a suspect were shared with other law enforcement agencies, 18-year-old Jacek Gwiazda of Ansonia was identified. A warrant was issued, and with help from Judicial Marshals, Gwiazda was taken into custody Aug. 29 at Stamford Superior Court. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, attempted third-degree larceny and three counts of payment card theft. His bond was set at $50,000.

In a separate case, officers stopped a vehicle on Danbury Road near New Street around 2:24 a.m. Aug. 30 after reports it was braking abruptly and flashing high beams. The vehicle pulled into a driveway on Hurlbutt Street, where officers identified the driver as 25-year-old Jahmaya Anderson of Wilton. Police said Anderson had an active warrant from Stamford Superior Court for second-degree failure to appear related to earlier charges of driving with a suspended license and traveling too fast.
