The department joined forces with the chamber and the Wilton Domestic Violence Task Force, and the roses were attached with a purple flyer to raise awareness for Wilton Cares Day on Oct. 16, the first day of Wilton Restaurant Week.
Restaurants participating in Restaurant Week will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center.

“To tie it into the random acts of kindness, I think it’s appropriate,” Lt. Robert Cipolla told the Norwalk Hour. “So, October 16, come out and shop and dine in Wilton and a lot of the participating businesses are going to be donating some of their proceeds to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, which has the potential of helping someone in our community that’s been impacted by domestic violence.”
Cipolla also told the publication that 75 households accessed services from the Domestic Violence Crisis Center from 2016-2017.
The roses were donated by Damselfly Designs at the Village Market Prosperous Printing, LLC.
