Wilton Pride And Library Host Second Annual Come Out & Run 5K

Wilton Pride 5K returns Sept. 14 with music, prizes, and a community celebration of inclusion.

WILTON, CT — The Second Annual Come Out & Run 5K, hosted by Wilton Pride and Wilton Library, is set for Sunday, Sept. 14, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Wilton Town Green. The event celebrates LGBTQ+ pride and community unity in advance of National Coming Out Day in October.

Organizers are encouraging broad participation in the family-friendly 5K, which includes music, food, entertainment, and prizes. Runners, walkers, children, strollers, and leashed dogs are all welcome. Registration is $25 for participants ages 10 and up, while children under 10 may participate for free. Registered runners will receive a T-shirt, digital photos, and access to all festivities.

“The Come Out & Run 5K embodies the true spirit of inclusivity through running,” said Nikki Sherman, a Wilton Pride board member. “This event is a joyful celebration of Pride and community, built on cheering each other on and mutual support.”

Caroline Mandler, executive director of Wilton Library, noted the strong turnout last year and said organizers expect the 2025 event to grow. “We had more than 250 runners join us for this incredible community event, and expect this year to be even bigger,” Mandler said.

The event is also part of the Wilton Coalition for Youth’s #WiltonIsWhereYouBelong campaign, an initiative of the Wilton Youth Council designed to foster a sense of belonging for all residents, regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
