What does this person teach?

Special Education

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Of the least appreciated or understood sectors of education , special education teachers bring to the classroom extraordinary (magical) skills, juggling the full range of learning, physical and emotional disabilities, complicated legal ramifications, and unrelenting parental anxiety. Polly exemplifies these qualities, bringing to the classroom her unwavering, magical smile, with students following her around like happy baby ducks, a broad understanding of legal quicksand, with unassuming confidence to communicate her competence, containing the most irrational parents and advocates. As Instructional Leader she supports fellow teachers with consistent and current expectations. And cookies. Cannot forget the cookies.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

She is truly an unsung hero. A quietly unassuming class act and model for students, faculty and parents.
