
On Nov. 23 at 2:48a.m. Wilton boy, 17, driving a 2011 Jeep Liberty was traveling north on Cherry Lane when he traveled off the left side of the road, traveled over a low stone wall, and came to rest in the front yard of the residence of 61 Cherry Lane.
According to the Wilton Police accident report, the operator was found to be disoriented and possibly intoxicated.
Investigation by Wilton Police determined that prior to the accident, the operator was found to have been involved in a series of other accidents along Hurlbutt St, Cannon Rd, and Sturges Ridge Rd, which resulted in damage to a stop sign and several mailboxes and/or posts.
Describing the operator's condition Lt. Wakeman of Witon Police said, "He was confused at the scene and didn't really know where he was and was slurring his speech." Due to the condition of the operator, he was transported to Norwalk Hospital by Wilton EMS.
Further investigation and charges are pending regarding the actions of the driver.
