Wilton Volunteers Collect Over A Ton of Litter In Townwide Clean-Up

About 100 volunteers helped clear 2,200 pounds of litter across Wilton during the Conservation Commission's annual clean-up event.

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Conservation Commission hosted its annual Townwide Clean Up Day on April 5, drawing approximately 100 volunteers who collected 2,200 pounds of litter from the town’s roadsides and along the Norwalk River.

Participants, including members of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Wilton Kiwanis, Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Wilton High School, and local families, gathered at the town gazebo Saturday morning to receive gloves and garbage bags before heading out across town.

Despite poor weather, the event saw enthusiastic participation and concluded with a raffle of gift certificates donated by Wilton Hardware and Wilton Kiwanis. Pinocchio’s Pizza supported the effort by providing free pizza to volunteers.
