Wiltonians: Move Your Brush to the Side of the Road
DPW trucks are starting to clean up the fallen branches left by Alfred, and only one pass will be made on each road.

First Selectman William Brennan told Patch that Wilton’s Department of Public Works (DPW) has started the methodical process of clearing brush left in Alfred’s wake.
To do this, the DPW will make one pass on each of Wilton’s 308 roads—equaling about 128 miles—to chip and haul away branches. The process will take four to six weeks to complete, according to Brennan.
“We’re asking our citizens to take their brush and put it by the side of the road…[The DPW] will make one pass on each road. We’re putting crews in north, south, east, and west parts of Wilton so no section gets favored,” said Brennan.

The one-pass-per-street is necessary because the clean-up is costly.
“We can’t afford to go back” and forth, said Brennan. Therefore, residents are advised to start dragging that unsightly brush to the side of the street as soon as possible to avoid missing those DPW trucks. Brennan said there was no real planned route for streets, either.

“The sooner the better,” said Brennan. “We’ve already started.”
