Wilton's U9 Gold Soccer Defeats Greenwich 5-2

The Wilton U9 Gold team defeated U9 Greenwich 5-2 on Sunday 9/11 in its season opener.
During the first half, goalie Aidan Shannon had seven saves. Win Brichkowski started the scoring drive with a goal at the 16:47 mark, and Oliver Dahlen added another at 22:30 to tie the score at 2-2.
Sam Strazza scored the go-ahead goal with two minutes remaining in the half.

In addition, Jack Rosen had two assists in the first half.
The second half saw the Wilton U9 Gold team solidify its lead, starting with Owen Steckel stealing the ball at center field and taking it all the way in to score unassisted. Solid passing and frontline depth was provided by John Stanley and Max Greenberg, who both had assists.

Sam Rosen added the final goal for Wilton on a breakaway.
Quinn O’Conner, Ryan Johnson and Nick Mancuso played solid defense as Greenwich was held scoreless in the second half.
