Purse vanishes at Village Market
10/18: A woman grabbed a shopping cart outside of Village Market and placed her small Vera Bradley purse within it, but before she entered the market, she paused to take a phone call and left her cart unattended, according to police. When the woman returned to look for her cart and purse, she was me with the unwelcome surprise that both were gone, and neither were able to be located on the Village Market grounds, according to police. The purse contained credit cards and a license.
‘Highly intoxicated’ woman tries to kick in Georgetown Shell door

10/23: At around 3:11 a.m., an officer discovered that the front door to the Georgetown Shell gas station had been smashed, according to police. The officer checked the area and located a woman in the Georgetown Plaza parking lot next door. The woman, said Lieutenant Donald Wakeman, was reportedly “highly intoxicated” and had, under further investigation, tried to kick in the door. Police said the woman, identified as Laura Muckerman, 34, of New Milford, was apparently looking for someone at the gas station—which had been closed for the night for some time. Police charged Muckerman with criminal mischief in the second degree.
‘Unusual’ condominium burglary

10/21: Sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., a condominium on Fawn Ridge Lane was broken into and burglarized, according to police reports. Police said that a window shattered when the burglar(s) attempted to pry the window open. The perps stole various property, identified simply as an “undetermined amount of jewelry, coins and electronic items,” according to the report. “It’s unusual to have a [burglary] in a condominium complex,” said Wakeman, noting that the close proximity of the surrounding residences normally deters burglars. Anyone who witnessed unusual activity in the area is encouraged to call the police dept.
Anyone drop a cooler?
10/18: A cooler was found in the middle of the roadway at around 7:20 a.m; call WPD to claim it.
Teenager flips car
10/21: A 17-year-old Wilton girl rolled her vehicle after losing control, swerving back and forth on a curve while heading northbound on Rte 33, south of Deforest Road, according to police. The vehicle flipped onto the driver’s side and slammed into a tree, and the operator was transported to the hospital for evaluation, police said. Police did not know the extent of the girl’s injuries, but said that she appeared to be in ok condition when she arrived at WPD the next day to give her statement. Police charged the juvenile with reckless driving.
Threats made on Portland Ave.
10/24: A man threatened his roommate, an unidentified female, while banging on the windows and doors of his apartment on Portland Avenue, according to police. Police said the man, Mauro DeSantis, 44, of Wilton, had gotten into a dispute with his roommate, and the landlord of the building (also the accused’s mother). DeSantis turned himself in on a warrant for his arrest; he was charged with threatening and disorderly conduct.
