On this Good News Friday, congratulations are necessary, and they are due to two bakeries in town: Moneta Moments and Get Baked.
First and foremost, congratulations Moneta Moments. The Palisado Avenue bakery has made a habit of supporting local organizations, and they've really outdone themselves this time.
The peanut and nut-free specialists recently organized a cookie drive with all proceeds going to support two organizations in town: The Friends of Windsor Animal Care and Control and Mary's Place.
Moneta Moments was able to collect hundreds of dollars for dog and cat food to be given to Friends of Windsor Animal Care and Control, which works diligently to help residents feed heir four-legged family members in tough economic times.
They also collected enough to purchase boxes full of craft supplies to be given to the children of Mary's Place, which provides support for grieving children and families.
Congratulations are also due to Get Baked. The Central Street bakery made out big this week when the Best of Hartford poll results were announced.
Get Bakes won second place in the Best Local Instagrammer category, third place in the best dessert category and third place in the best bakery category.
