Windsor is just one week away from its fourth budget referendum of 2013, and a group of local women are making an extra effort to get those who may vote yes to show up at the polls.
About a dozen Windsor women have come together to ensure Windsor won't have to schedule a fifth referendum, according to Jane Garibay, executive director of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce.
According to Garibay, the group, called Women for Windsor CT, formed after she received a call from resident Ina Forman.
What was initially a call to gather a several community-involved Windsor women has since grown into the printing of t-shirts, 40 "Vote Yes" lawn signs across town, a television promo and a politically-unaffiliated movement to get Windsor's budget passed.
You can catch the promotional video on Windsor Community Television.
