Daily 5: A Business Loophole, a Business Opportunity and Taylor Swift
Here are five things going on in the area today.

Good morning, Windsor Locks and East Windsor! Today is Thursday, April 11, 2013; there are 264 days left in the year.
Kids, it’s no secret that I think Taylor Swift is the bee’s knees.
I love the Tay Tay. She’s just a li’l darlin’.
(Standard South Windsor Patch Disclaimer regarding Taylor Swift: There is absolutely nothing creepy at all to have a crush on a woman 20 years my junior.Â
Nope. Nothing creepy at all. Move along. Nothing to see here.)
So I don’t like it when anyone makes fun of the cute-as-a-baby-harp-seal singer.
But, man, this is a great parody of “I Knew You Were Trouble” featuring a Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.
Man, I love the Internets.
Here’s your Daily 5:
1. Break out the umbrellas. April showers bring May flowers is ringing true today. A high of just 49ºF is forecast for Wednesday, with rain throughout the day and tapering off into the night, according to Weather.com.
2. Though the moratorium on sexually-oriented businesses in Windsor Locks put an end to the proposal to establish a topless bar on Ella Grasso Turnpike? As one of my broadcasting favorites (Lee Corso) would say:Â Not so fast, my friend. The proposal is alive and well. There's even a meeting about it coming up in a couple of weeks.
3. It's spring cleaning season. That means that, along with all the dust bunnies you're looking to expel your home, you may find yourself wanting to get rid of one or two items that have warn out their welcome in your home. The answer? Look no further than our "Buy/Sell/Trade" board.
4. Speaking of boards. Are you a local business owner looking for some increased exposure. We've got a couple of options for you. First, provide the local community with your expertise by setting up a blog. Second, use our "Business Updates" board to tell potential customers about your business' fresh new look, milestones and more!
5. Are you concerned about noise from Bradley and whether or not your home is eligible for subsidized sound proofing? An informational meeting has been scheduled for tonight at Windsor Locks High School. Sneak peek: the maps have changed.
