East Windsor Rotary Dedicates Bench To LeBreux

The East Windsor Rotary Club on Thursday dedicated a memorial park bench to charter member Ray LeBreux at the Warehouse Green.

LeBreux, a barber and U.S. Navy veteran who was an avid golfer and card player, died in April 2012 at the age of 73.

In addition to being a charter member of Rotary, he served as its president for two terms and received the Paul Harris Award.

He owned and operated Friendly Barbershop in East Windsor for 43 years.

"I think it's beautiful," said Bev LeBreux, Ray's widow. "It's just such a great memorial. He'd be quite honored to have something like that."

Rotary past president Bill Kinsley said that there are over 7 billion people on the planet and 350 million in the U.S.

Very few people are honored with a memorial or a street named after them, Kinsley said.

Most of the money raised for the bench was donated by friends, Kinsley said.
