State Department of Transportation workers have shut down Route 140 eastbound in East Windsor near Route 191.
The pavement in that area has eroded to the point where the a portion of the road has slightly collapsed.
Messages left with the Department of Transportation on Thursday were not returned.
However, workers on Friday afternoon said they were setting up a detour for drivers which would be complete around 3:30 p.m.
