Sunny Day, Your Voice & Hinckley Takes Fourth in Seekonk

Here is a look at five things you might be interested in today, Monday, June 11.

1. What an absolutely gorgeous weather weekend we just had. It looks like it will continue into the early part of the week, with the sun shining and temperatures reaching about 77ÂşF today with a gentle breeze, according to the National Weather Service.

Wish I could say the same about the middle part of the week. Let's just hope Mother Nature switches up her plan...

3. It was a busy, busy weekend but we made it through. Just in case you missed some of the neat stories, blogs and opinion pieces posted on the site here is a sampling for your review:

4. East Windsor residents will head to the polls Tuesday for the third time to decide the fate of the 2012-13 municipal budget. Voters have rejected similar proposals twice, but this time a decision will be made one way or the other.

As it stands the proposed tax rate increase is 1.97 percent, which could be implemented if voters approved of this third revision. If it's rejected, then town officials must take the prior year’s budget and across the board, based on the town charter.

Polls open Tuesday at noon and will stay open until 8 p.m.

5. Here's a report from the track: Windsor Locks resident Les Hinckley took fourth this weekend in the 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series event at the Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, MA.

Hinckley chased the leaders for multiple laps before dropping down into the fourth position, according to the Track Talk blog published by Enterprisenews.com.
