Investigators describe a recorded pill sale at East University Drive in Boca Raton and later arrest in Highland Beach, while the court has ordered strict home confinement and no contact with FAU as the case proceeds.
   

2. BREAKING: Heavy Police Presence, Helicopter Search After Reported Explosive Sounds, Evacuation At West Boca Walmart (bocapost.com) — Shoppers and employees at the West Boca Raton Walmart on FL-7 were evacuated Tuesday night after reports of explosive sounds or possible gunfire triggered a massive law enforcement and helicopter response. Deputies, tactical units, and an EOD component searched the area, but as of late Tuesday officials had not confirmed injuries, arrests, or what caused the loud bang.
   

3. Jeff Weber Appointed to YMCA of South Palm Beach County Board of Trustees (bocaratontribune.com) — Boca Raton civic leader and media executive Jeff Weber has joined the YMCA of South Palm Beach County’s Board of Trustees, bringing his Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton and Boca Walk for Alzheimer’s experience to the role. His appointment is expected to bolster youth programming, drowning-prevention efforts, and the Y’s long-term financial and outreach strategies across South Palm Beach County.

New study ranks all 67 counties on property taxes in Florida as Republican leaders target tax cuts (wflx.com) — Boca Raton is among several Palm Beach County cities landing in the top 50 statewide for property tax growth over the past decade, according to a new Florida Tax Watch study. The report ranks counties and cities by per-capita levies and millage rates as Republican leaders in Tallahassee float major property tax cuts, while local officials push back on claims of “wasteful spending.”
