1,467 Coronavirus Cases In Florida, 20 Deaths

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The number of coronavirus cases in Florida climbed to 1,467 Tuesday night while the death toll in the state rose to 20, according to state health officials.

The total includes 1,467 positive cases of Florida residents and 88 cases involving non-Florida residents. The total also includes a small number of Florida residents who tested positive in other states.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an order Monday requiring all incoming air passengers from the New York City area to self-quarantine. He expanded the order to Tuesday to include travelers who arrived up to three weeks ago.

With 367 cases, Miami-Dade County has the most confirmed cases of any of Florida's 67 counties. Nearby Broward County, which has a much smaller population than Miami-Dade, has 312 cases.

Palm Beach County has 101 cases, 15 more than Monday. Those three South Florida counties, and particularly Broward and Miami-Dade counties, account for more than half of all Florida cases.
