$1M Scratch-Off Prize Sold By Publix Won By Manatee County Woman

A Manatee County woman claimed a $1 million prize Monday in the Florida Lottery's scratch-off game. She bought her ticket at Publix.

PARRISH, FL — A Manatee County woman claimed a $1 million prize Monday in a Florida Lottery scratch-off game. She bought her winning ticket at Publix.

Terasa Katsaros, 51, of Parrish, received the big prize in the Year For Live Spectacular Scratch-Off game at the Lottery's headquarters in Tallahassee. She opte to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

Katsaros purchased her winning ticket from Publix, 11245 North US Highway 301, in Parrish. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The $50 Scratch-Off game, $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR launched in February and features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.

Scratch-Off games make up about 72 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2022-2023. Since inception, Scratch-Off games have generated more than $18.09 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
